Miles of quiet country lanes make this an ideal way to explore the peninsula. The Millennium cycle way "Celtic Way West" passes through the area, but you might be better working out your own circular routes from the Ordnance Survey maps.
Cycle hire available in St Davids
There is not much off-road cycling in the area, and the Coast path is definitely for walkers only.

Water-Sports

Surrounded on three sides by sea, the St Davids Peninsula is famous for it's water-sports.

Whitesands and Newgale beaches are both renowned for surfing, there are life guards here during the summer holidays. Look out for the flags which indicate which stretch of beach is covered by rescue services. Surf boards can be hired at Whitesands during the summer holidays.

Wind surfing is possible at Whitesands, Newgale and Abereiddy for the experienced with their own rigs. Rig hire and tuition is available at Dale.

Scuba diving tuition is available in St Davids at the Dive Centre (01437 721788) Equipment can also be hired and tanks refilled.

Canoeing St Davids offers a wide range of canoeing and kayaking opportunities. There is sheltered paddling suitable for beginners in Porthclais and Solva. For the more experienced there is the possibility of open sea trips around the dramatic and sometimes wild open coast, or surfing at Whitesands or Abereiddy, or the challenge of play boating on the Bitches in Ramsey Sound (you need to be experienced for this one)
